What To Pack for Surgery in Thailand

According to what suits your needs, please see the CosMediTour Suggestion Packing Checklist below as a handy guide to get you started. Keep in mind to try and pack as lightly as possible:

Necessary Items

  • Passport
  • CosMediTour Client Travel Folio (electronic or paper)
  • Copy of Travel Insurance documents (electronic or paper). This will have all contact details in the event you have to use the insurance. 
  • Toiletries – try and avoid large bulk containers
  • Thailand powerpoint adapter
  • Electronic chargers (extra long cords are helpful)
  • Currency: approx 5000 Thai Baht in small notes to get you started
  • Credit Card/Debit Card or Foreign Currency Card
  • Clothing comfy and lightweight, that are easy to take off (front zip or button opening clothing is best)
  • Questions to ask your Surgeon at your Pre Surgery Consultation

  • Post Surgery Support Garment – Buy your garment prior to departure.  Your surgeon will advise on post surgery support garment. The hospital may or may not supply you with a garment. Some garments are purchasable at the hospital, however, there may be sizing issues.

Small overnight bag for Hospital (for Phuket only) including your:

  • Passport

  • Comfy overnight wear
  • Clean change of comfy clothes & underwear (easy to get on and off)
  • Post Surgery Garment
  • Entertainment: book, or magazine, or iPad for movies

Luxury Items 

  • Power board 
  • Bum bag or travel wallet
  • Plane travel/neck pillow 
  • Small umbrella 
  • Eye mask for plane
  • Ear plugs for plane
  • V shaped boomerang pillow 
  • Dry shampoo 
  • Camera/GoPro 
  • HDMI cord 
  • Selfie stick (for after surgery selfies hehe) 
  • Spritzer hydrating spray for the plane 
  • Sarong 

Helpful Post Travel Tips

  • Contact your Bank prior to travelling and let them know where you are going and what dates
  • Contact your Phone company if you wish to put your cell phone on Roaming prior to travel
  • Ensure your Travel insurance is arranged

  • Be mindful of the overall weight of your bag as this can be hard to move and lift post surgery. Light packing also allows for more room in your bag for shopping after surgery!
