Body

One of the first prerequisites for body surgery is that patients ideally need to be relatively fit and healthy. The healthier you are, the quicker you will generally recover. As with the range of facial procedures, you can choose a combination of procedures to suit your desired results.

TUMMY TUCK (ABDOMINOPLASTY)
Is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and then tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. Abdominoplasty is designed to firm and smooth a protruding sagging abdomen.

Best Candidates
• Men and women who are in relatively good shape but have loose large fat deposits and/or skin
• Women who have had multiple pregnancies
• Men and women who have lost large amounts of weight

Hospital Consultation
The surgeon will review your medical history and examine you. After examination and discussions with you, the surgeon will make the final determination of your eligibility for the procedure, as you may just require a “mini” tummy tuck or liposuction.

Procedure:
Incisions are made across the lower abdomen and one to separate the skin and navel from the underlying muscle and tissue, like an upside down T. Skin is then pulled back toward the ribcage, excess fat and skin are trimmed away, abdominal muscles are tightened with sutures and the belly button is repositioned and the incision sutured.

In a partial abdominoplasty procedure, the skin of the lower abdomen is pulled down, away from the ribs, and only the fat and skin in that area are removed and tightened and the navel is left in place.
