Both procedures are designed to lift and remove sagging skin caused by loss of elasticity, weight loss, aging, etc, giving you a firmer, contoured and smoother appearance in the legs, buttocks and abdomen. Lower body lift is a combination of an Abdominoplasty, thigh lift and buttock lift. Combined procedures will remove excess skin and fat from the stomach, thighs and buttocks.
Best Candidates
- Men and women with excessive sagging and excess skin
Hospital Consultation
During your consult with the surgeon at the Hospital the surgeon will review your medical history and after thorough examination and discussions, the surgeon will make the final determination of which procedure and method is best. (Men and Women over 55 years may have to undergo a pre-surgery laboratory tests).
Procedure
Thigh Lift - The doctor will mark your thighs whilst standing, by grasping the skin and gently pulling upwards in order to estimate how much skin should be removed. An incision is made in the groin to the back of the crease of the buttock. Skin in then lifted and excess skin and fat is removed. The scar is hidden in the groin crease.
Belt Lipectomy - Similar to the Leg/Thigh Lift, the doctor will mark your areas whilst in a standing position, by grasping the skin and gently pulling upwards and downwards (for the abdominal area). Excess skin and fat is removed from the thighs and buttocks, and the superficial fascia suspension system (SFS) is resuspended in order to maintain shape and keep muscles in their proper positions. A large incision is made across the midriff and the skin is then lifted requiring the belly button to be separated from surrounding tissue. Vertical stomach muscles will be pulled tightly together and skin is then pulled down over the muscle tissue.
